MEET THE GUIDES

EMILY & SCOTT
COMRIE CROFT BIKES

Locations Covered: Southern Highlands

  • Comrie Croft is based on the edge of the Southern Highlands with Glen Lednock sitting as the stunning backdrop for their coaching and guided adventures.

  • Em’s superpower is getting people on bikes. She is a firm believer that age is just a number, you are never ‘too old’ for anything. She is a British Level 3 MTB Leader and Level 2 Coach.

  • Scott is a superb coach, his relaxed manner puts the most nervous rider at ease. He can ride the gnarliest of gnar, breaking it down into bite sized chunks so you can too! He is a British Cycling Level 2 Coach and Trail Cycle Leader.

LOUISE HAGGARTY
HEAD IN THE SKY

Locations Covered: Central Scotland

  • Comrie Croft is based on the edge of Louise is based in central Scotland but runs her coaching and guiding trips all over Scotland.

  • Whether you want to take your riding to the next level in the Tweed Valley, or get into some natural riding at Dunkeld, Louise helps you build confidence on the bike by combining practical skills and tips to overcome the psychological blocks that often hinder progress. Sessions available from beginner to advanced level riding

  • Explore some of Scotland's most beautifully rugged parts by bike with

     -Beginner + intermediate bikepacking trips
    - Adventure weekends
     -Scottish Island adventure trips

MIKE WILKES
MACDUI BIKE ADVENTURES

Locations Covered: Cairngorms

  • Mike, from Macdui Bike Adventures, guides around mountains and forests of Scotland, but is most at home in the Cairngorms. The wilder the better.

  • He and his team are British Cycling Level 3 qualified and can guide and coah through the mountains, natural trails and trail centres.

  • Packages include:

BEN NEWTON
WERIDE MTB GUIDE & COACH

Locations Covered: Scottish Borders & N.England

  • Whilst based in West Yorkshire, Ben provides guiding and coaching across England and Scotland predominantly in the Peak District, Lake District and Scottish Borders.

  • He is a British Cycling Level 2 MTB coach and Level 3 MTB leader with over 15 years experience.

  • Guiding packages include:

    - Road to Golfie
    - Road to Enduro
    - Steep and Tech Master Class

LIZ PEACOCK
TRAILSKILLS MTB

  • Liz is a Level 2 MTB coach and Level 3 MTB guide based in Southwest Scotland, and loves sharing her passion and enthusiasm for mountain biking with others. 

  • Liz runs bespoke private and small group coaching across Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders. Whether you are new to mountain biking, want to master steep and tech, prepare for your first enduro and everything in between, a session can be designed to meet your needs.

  • Guided rides can be arranged across Scotland and also into north England, primarily the Lake District and Peak district. From rugged and raw rocky tech to wooded singletrack, rolling hills and scenic lakes there are options to suit everyone.

BE INSPIRED

Episode two 'the ‘Torridon Classic’, features McTrail Rider and Louise Haggerty on an epic highland adventure loop, renowened for it’s sheer beauty and remoteness.

The route meanders through the remote Scottish highlands and isn’t for the faint hearted. Albeit a big day on the bike, the descents and views make it well worth it.
